These face masks do not qualify as PPE and cannot protect you from small virus particles. They are helpful if you have symptoms and want to reduce spread or are required to wear face masks in public.
The most effective methods of protection remain self-isolation and thorough hand washing.
When you purchase this face mask, half of the profit will go toward donating masks to my local hospitals and nursing homes.
You can choose any fabric listed as a bandana on my website. If I don't have enough of that fabric or it is not cotton, I will let you know and ask you to choose another fabric. The reverse of the masks will default to a plain pattern or solid color as you should NEVER switch which side is facing out and which is next to your face, at least not without washing first.
Please wash your cotton masks with hot water between uses. They will lose their pleats over time but will function the same. Feel free to iron the pleats back in.
It is fairly simple to make these masks if you have the supplies and a sewing machine at home. If you want to make masks for yourself or to donate to local hospitals, this website has the pattern I used and a donation database. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email or message on Instagram.
